The WOW! ministry being featured in December is Communications.
This is the first time that the Communications Ministry is being defined as such, and appears in our list of ministry teams. Team leaders Doc Watson and Chris Wesselborg are the technology experts for the team. The PowerPoint, the sound system, the computers, the web page and more are under their loving care.
At the communications hub is Administrative Assistant Patti Gordon. Most often she is the first person someone sees as they enter the front door, and also the first voice they hear if they call by phone. She is also the recipient of e-mail to the church account.
Patti oversees our two primary print publications: the weekly Sunday bulletin, prayer list, and announcements of ministry activities and events, in addition to Gabriel’s Blast, the monthly newsletter, which is available in print and by e-mail. Patti also compiled the new church directory, available in print and electronically for computer and smart phones.
Communications also includes our electronic media: a Facebook page, which is now very active and up-to-date thanks to Susan Altman. If you have a Facebook account, please “Like” our page, North Shore United Methodist Church. If you don’t personally have an account, please tell your friends and family who do, to “Like” our page. Susan has also set up an NSUMC Twitter account.
Electronic media includes our webpage. A new web page, designed by Chris Wesselborg, is about ready go live, as soon as all the information is up-to-date, and we have someone (or several someones) with time and ability to keep it current.
The Communications Team is actively seeking additional members, especially those who will write for Gabriel’s Blast or the website. If you are interested, please talk to Doc, Chris, or Patti.
