On February 7th and 8th, 2015, NSUMC was blessed to host two outstanding presentations of GODSPELL by Riverhead Faculty Community Theater (RFCT). The cast was overjoyed to perform this show again after their very successful run in November 2014. When approached with the idea of performing it again as a benefit for the Good Samaritan House, the RFCT was very willing to see all the proceeds go toward that end.
Our sanctuary was filled to capacity for both shows! Our spirits were lifted by the Gospel stories brought to life. We were moved to tears with the wounded Jesus bathed in the light of our stained glass cross. It was truly beautiful.
And God blessed us further with financial success. Between ticket sales, refreshments, and proceeds from a very successful sale of raffle baskets, we raised over $5700! The Good Samaritan Team unanimously voted to return $750 of the proceeds to RFCT to be used toward their annual scholarships to local graduating seniors. With full hearts, we thank the RFCT, and all our church family behind the scenes, for their hard work and generosity of time and spirit in helping us move forward with our dream of the Good Samaritan House.
