Reverend Dr. Thomas Gye Ho Kim has been in ministry of God for since 1995. He received a B.Th. in 1986 and a M.Th. in 1988 from the Methodist Theological University, Seoul, Korea; a M.Phil. (1995) and a Ph.D. (1999) from Drew University, Madison, NJ. Since his ordination in the New York Annual Conference in 1995, he has been serving local churches as a pastor. He also taught pastors who enrolled in a Doctor of Ministry Program as an adjunct faculty at Drew Theological School (2000–2004). In 2004, he took a sabbatical year and taught as a visiting faculty at the Methodist Theological University in Seoul, Korea.
Reverend Dr. Kim is an author of The Korean Immigrant Church: A Case of Religion and Ethnicity, and several articles on Religion and Social Change. He was a member of a Bible Translation Team in Abingdon Press, and his team translated the Study Bible into Korean. He also translated several other books, including The Disciple, Studying Congregations, Family-Powered Church, and Knitted Together.
He is a music lover. He plays the guitar and the bass. Currently, he is taking cello lessons.
Reverend Dr. Kim enjoys preaching ministry. He believes he was called to preach and share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He has two adult children: Jonathan and Elizabeth.
